Penn Badgley and Ariana Grande star in “The Boy Is Mine,” directed by Christian Breslauer, who also directed the music video for “Yes, and?”.

It’s time for the third single from Ariana Grande’s album “Eternal Sunshine,” titled “The Boy Is Mine”! In this music video directed by Christian Breslauer (who also directed the video for “Yes, and?”), you can see many famous people.

First of all, they’ve incorporated a nostalgic detail in the clip due to the song’s name “The Boy is Mine,” which refers to Brandy and Monica’s 1998 hit song of the same name. At the beginning of the video, Brandy and Monica appear as news reporters narrating the story. Ariana Grande has said that they were an inspiration for this song.

Penn Badgley, known for “Gossip Girl” and “You,” is in the clip! Known for his stalker roles in the series, Penn Badgley is now a stalking victim! In this music video, he portrays the handsome mayor of the city.

Rumors of Penn Badgley’s involvement in the music video turned out to be true. Ariana Grande had drawn attention with photos taken on the set of her music video released last week.

The pop star Ariana Grande is back! Ariana Grande is a cat woman and she dropped the "The Boy Is Mine" clip!

Ariana Grande as a Catwoman

In the video, Penn Badgley, playing a mayor reminiscent of New York City, releases all cats into the streets to solve a rat infestation in his city. Ariana Grande prepares him a bottle of love potion and sneaks into his apartment on a rainy night dressed as Catwoman. But she realizes she didn’t need it after all.

She transforms into an elegant Catwoman with a black latex mini. Lace braided cat ears and short brown hair in a flipped bob, with the whip as the finishing touch!

During an appearance Thursday night on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon," Grande told the late-night host she had been a fan of Badgley her "entire life" and was "super honored to have him" appear in the music video.

In the end, we see scenes indicating a happy ending with laughter, together on a couch with a cat, fitting his energy. Watching this video, we all have the same question: are theatrical pop music videos making a comeback? If we recall pop music videos from the 2000s, they were generally enjoyable to watch like short films.
