“Modernism is present in dress, design, decoration, and thought.” - Kim Jones
This statement came to life in a delightful runway show, inviting us to celebrate the centenary. The festivities were entrusted to Kim Jones, and Fendi left another mark on modernism; because transcending its era and adorning the spirit of design with modernism is inherent to Jones.
In this show, nude tones combined to authentically capture the grunge style in unique cuts, while pistachio green, one of the dominant colors of the SS25 Menswear collection, became a complement to modern styles. The 90s slip dresses were brought to life in the 21st century with Fendi, highlighting the elegance of the female form, much like the transparent shirts that reveal the feminine silhouette.
As for the embroidered details, they elevated the simplicity of tulle fabrics, placed in light forms. The intricate, handmade embroidery is not only present in outerwear but is also hidden in ruffled socks. The value of the motifs increases with every model on the runway.
This show, where traditional patterns lead modern fabrics, showcases Fendi's quality even in its 100th year.
“Quality is the number one point alongside the beauty of design.” - Silvia Venturini Fendi.
